If Noah had been a stick-in-the-mud. A double limerick…

Said Noah, “I hate to complain,
But all of this work is insane!
Thy powers are great–that is plain!  
And yet, Thou will not stop this rain!
My name will be mud,
And there will be blood,
If this ark’s a dud.
So, God, dam this flood!”
Said God, “Thou hast nothing to gain
By taking the Lord’s name in vain!”

A critic opined, “You’re no singer!
You’re just a piss-poor lyrics slinger.
What’s more, like a damaged clang-clinger,
Your trills would make cringe a bell-ringer!
And what’s really sad,
You hum notes so bad
Our ears wish they had
Two plugs (iron-clad)!
Though your show‘s a deaf-nite humdinger,
Of musical joy, you’re no bringer!”
