First Officer Spock played a critical role.
He practiced straight logic and strict self-control.
He had Vulcan ears,
But shed Human tears
When locked up emotions broke loose from his soul.

In memory of Leonard Nimoy, who died on February 27, 2015, the date this was published in the United States. See Limerick #95 for a limerick dedicated to William Shatner, who is still trekking.

Mr. Nimoy has done many things in the entertainment world, but Spock will always be the role he’s remembered for. This more than captures Kirk’s sentiment when he stated, “Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most…human.” (The Wrath of Khan)

Sad to see Mr Nimoy depart. I liked him a lot, at least when he wasn’t singing! A fitting tribute David.
