Nekkid to the world…

It states in large print:

         IF YOU LOOK UNDER AGE 25
             PLEASE SHOW YOUR ID

I can swallow my ego, but I’ve
A hunch that my id won’t comply
Because it is timid and shy.
“Your psyche–exposed? Oh, the shame! Your self-worth won’t survive!”

Limerick #221

Bad shot at the Hoquet Corral. A two-part limerick…

A drunk and a horse thief! Bill Hiccup yelled, “Hey!
Get off’n my horse! Drop your French pistolet!”
Bang! Frenchy was shot!
But dead?–he was not!
“Your Colt .45 made a petit hoquet!”

“A shot?” Wyatt Burp grabbed his gun, left his gal,
And came quick a-runnin’! “Must be the corral!”
He came just in time.
“Stop! Killin’s a crime!”
Though Frenchy was bleedin’, he laughed, “J’ai pas mal!”

Limerick #220

The maid who landed a job. A double limerick…

In April, I fired the new maid without pay 
Because with her pay she got carried away
She spent it on lessons–she fancied ballet–
And saved not a penny, so one rainy day  
She found herself stiffed
Of course she was miffed
“Not even a gift!”
I set her adrift…
The leaky boat sank, but the maid is okay
She’s back with the mermaids that swim in the bay
