It’s such a rare event here that many residents drove to Red Rock Canyon in order to play in the snow, engage in snowball fights, and make snowmen!

It’s rare in the valleys and canyons, but snow accumulates every year at the higher elevations, especially in the Spring Mountains to the west. There are a couple of ski runs up on Mt. Charleston, within an hour’s drive of Las Vegas.
